During FUT first the hairs in the donor area is trimmed to 3-5 mm. Then Dr.Rejali will select and draw the area he wants to remove the strip .Then he will use local anesthesia for the donor site and then he cuts a strip of skin from the scalp , usually from the back of your head. After cutting strip he will suture the incision. To avoid noticeable scar, we usually prefer the width of strip to be between 1 to 1.5 cm. Then technicians dissect the strip to follicular units under special microscopes, each follicular unit usually has between 1 to 3 hairs.
During this time the grafts are preserved in a special solution to keep them wet and live.
After this step Dr.Rejali will draw the hairline and after design was approved by the patient he will use local anesthetic for recipient site and then he makes all the recipient sites with special tiny blades.
Then the implantation phase will begin, in this step technicians will insert the grafts in the holes one by one.
The whole process usually takes about 4-8 hours depending on number of grafts.
If he uses absorbable sutures there is no need for suture removal, but if he uses non absorbable sutures, it should be removed after 7-10 days.
To avoiding noticeable scar Dr.Rejali uses two layer closure FUT and also he uses trichophytic closure technique.

The process of starting growth after hair transplant is same as FUE, hairs will start growing after 3-4 months, in 6 months you will see % 50-60 of the results and in 9-12 months you can see full results.
